Guides, can you name them?

I seen a custom rod last Thursday that someone made. The claim to the guides were that they are "Titanuium" that referance could be to the rings themselves (coating) or the guide foot?

The guide frame looked chrome, and SO DID the rings! They blended perfectly as if they were dipped as a one piece product.

Anyone ever seen any guides like those? Where can they be had if so? I'm not interested in purchasing them, I didnt like the look..but do want to know the cost and if there is such a thing in titanium.

Most likely a plating. Do you have any photos of the frame style?

Pac Bay, Am Tack and Batson I believe all make a guide like that.

The frame style was like a standard spinning in a fuji style-no pic.

In Titanuim Spencer?? I don't believe they do? I know AmTak has the titan but the ring and frame coloration is all wrong. These guides were claimed titainum and I've never seen titanium that color (chrome) in a frame and especially in a ring.

I beleive Tom is right, they looked dipped.

Guess I misread the original post. I was talking about plated guides like the Am Tack SCSF TiCh on Nitride ring, Pac Bay LCSVCG or Batson LTCVSCG on Zirconia rings. The Fuji SiC on Ti frame are about the same color with the SiC ring just a little darker, but neither is chrome brite. If someone was using a coated as white as the Ti on the Titan guides I haven't seen them either.

The Fuji Titanium Strippers that I have used are very bright frames, and match chrome snakes beautifully. there is a slight different hue to the Ceramic rings though.

I do believe I may have seen the same rod this past weekend, as I was fishing with the same group of smallie chasers. If the guides ain't Baston's LTCVSCG, they are similar guides from either PacBay or AmTackle. They certainly looked to be "TiCh" plated frames and rings to me. I guess one could call them "Titanium" guides, but they definitely were not anything from Fuji and they were not Titans either. It was a very nice rod for the price paid, but IMHO the company's marketing hype was a bit over the top .........

Joe,

You did see that rod, and I agree.
