I am looking for the 3 piece Sig V 8'4" 3/4, or other mid weight (possibly 5 or 6 wt.) 3 piece Sig V blanks that may be collecting dust somewhere. If you are "holding", let me know. My 7 yr. old casts her 7'6" 3 wt. Tiger Eye like a champ, but I'd like to build her something special for Christmas. I keep checking Dan's new web site hoping that these older blank models will re-appear, but so far I've only seen the 4 piece Sig Vs and the FTs.
I bet I'm not the only one (hint hint Dan !) Thanks all, Don Eurillo Re: In search of...Dan Craft "old style" Sig V 8'4" 3/4

Some of the people who have fishing the new 4 piece blanks say they are pretty awesome also in the weights you're looking at. Re: In search of...Dan Craft "old style" Sig V 8'4" 3/4

good luck in finding one of the older blanks. if i recall correctly, they're no longer being produced and any remaining stock dan MAY have, i would imagine he's holding onto for previous customers who might need a replacement section. if your desire to find the older 8'-4" length is because of your daughter's age, and thinking a slightly shorter rod would be best for her, you might try the 9 foot length. it should still be a very light blank comparatively speaking. they grow up so quickly, don't they? my daughter at 6 roll casts her 7'-6" 4wt forecast remarkably well. i'm amazed.

Don, Good luck finding one as well, and if you find two, let me know as I can always use another one. When the river is low as it is at this time of year, I get to use mine for smallies since I'm using smaller lighter weight buggers that don't have to get as deep and that rod is a ball when bringing in 15+ inchers.
