Hi Steve,
I measured one from the underside of guide foot to bottom of the inside of ring, 20mm. Hope this helps, Best wishes, Ron Schneider Schneider's Rod Shop Mountain Home, Arkansas [www.schneidersrods.com] mtnron40@yahoo.com 870-424-3381 Re: guide question

Ron;
Thanks for the reply, but that is not the dimension I'm looking for. What I want to know is how tall the entire guide stands of a blank Bottom of foot to top out side of frame. I you don't mind would you resend that to me. Thank you. Re: guide question

Greetings,
In building spinning rods, my method uses an Excel spreadsheet and it includes guide and reel centerline (C/L) heights which have been measured, beforehand, using my 'trusty' digital caliper. The goal of my method (for the new guide concept) is to have a straight 'line path' from the reel face C/L to the Crossover, and of course, from the Crossover to the tiptop (with no exceptions). I want to (or my method wants to) position guides at the exact location that 'matches' the inside diameter and C/L elevation of the ring on the straight 'line path' from reelface to crossover. "Think", a cone-shaped tunnel formed from the inside diameters of each guide-ring in a guide layout as a goal of this method. Basically, every guide "model and size" only needs to be, so measured, only once and then recorded on another spreadsheet intended for that purpose. I have re-used each such measurement over and over. I make three measurements (to get the "answer" to the "What is the C/L height?" question) of which at least one (measurement) is available (e.g. as a quality check) from published vendor data (that's, the overall guide height). The remaining two are "by caliper" measurements. I measured the "thickness" of the top of the guide and then the inside diameter of the ring . And If the "thickness" of the top of the guide is subtracted from overall guide height and subtracting one half of the inside ring diameter, as well; the resulting "summation" is the calculated centerline(C/L) height. Actually, its very easy to measure all three that I need (I'll call them A, B, and C), and record these in a spreadsheet representing C/L heights for every model and size guide of interest. Of course, each of these three measurements for each model & size has a specific C/L height that the spreadsheet calculates (because I've told it how to). NBD BTW Occasionally, it is not surprising to see slight variances; possibly from manufacturing etc. With any spreadsheet, I have found it is easy to get 'it' to "average out an unwanted variance". But 'that' isnt urgent because of good or better product quality IMO. Good Waggling, Bob Re: guide question

according to American Tackle the guide height is 1.638" or 41.61mm. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
