Madeira Thread

Hi everyone, I'm new to rodbuilding, I hear alot about Madeira thread and I'm curious about it. It doesn't appear to be a rodbuilding thread, more like a thread thats used for making embroideiry designs on hats and shirt logos? Sure does have alot of purdy colors compared to the choices available with the traditional nylon threads available as "rodbuilding threads".

I'm confused, I did a search, and it says that I must use a CP in order to prevent fisheyes.

Whats "fisheyes"

Do I really need CP?

Thanks in advance.

No, you only use CP over metallic, or was it under metallic, or was it...oh, never mind. I thought "fisheyes" was that creamy desert I got as a kid, wait..or was that fish eggs?
