Sanding blanks

I have a fiberglass / e-glass blank that is gloss black is there anyway to make it a matte finish?

Very fine steel wool will degloss it, but that's not exactly the same as matte. But it will take the shine off of it.

Try a portion under the handle lightly taking it down to just about the uniform water-break-free prep level and give it a good oogle and see if that looks like what you want. The blank may be a different color (Gray) underneathe Re: Sanding blanks
