There are crosswrap patterns in both the books by Dale Clemens
Advanced Custom Rod Building and Custom Rod Thread Art. The later having a more in depth explanations selections. Billy Vivona did a crosswrapping booklet and he might have a couple left. E-mail him. Also, I understand Tom Kirkmans book has some as well but I have not seen it myself. ( one of these days I got to get that book!) Flex-Coat has a couple of booklets with some fish, flag, box, and thunderbird patterns and they are only about $5 each Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. You really need to invest in Visual Wrap. A computer program by David Boyle and available from some of the sponsors on the left. With it you can design your own patterns and use their web site and copy patterns from there as well. Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

Billy40 Vivona,
If you read this, does any of your pamphlets have the Black Widow Spider wrap in it? How can I get it? Bill in WV Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

Ditto!
Visual Wrap is a MUST HAVE if you want to learn how to create your own patterns and designs or just want to be better at doing them in the first place. Until you are able to learn just what the program can do for you you can download patterns in the library and see them wrapped thread by thread in front of your eyes and has step by step instructions for wrapping them. Can be a bit intimidating for someone new to thread art but thats what the VW site is all about as well. Help is only a click away! Mike - if you decide to go the VW route, let me know after you get it and I'll help you out. Here is a list of patterns which can be downloaded off the VW site: [www.tightwraps.com]
Bill - at some point I sent you the step by step for the Black Widow pattern. I can't believe you didn't get it, I spent well over an hour putting it together for you, editting, etc. Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

the patterns look neat, but for a person who hasnt had much experience with thread wraps it looks awfully puzzling. I dont know the terms very well so therefore it puts a bad feeling on me that i cant do the wraps and have them turn out like they should. Can someone explain the details with a little more simplicity to them or can that not be done? Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

Billy,
So sorry bud!!! I checked my saved emails, and it's there. But it's only pictures, how do I tell how many threads to wrap and where? Again, sorry, just call me thick skulled. You can email me off forum if you want. Bill in WV Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

Get one of the books like Custom Rod Thread Art, it explains things pretty well. And you get a bunch of patterns to boot, what a deal eh! Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

Date: June 02, 2006 03:47PM Allen, Get the 2 Flex-Coat wrapping booklets. Thread by thread instructions included and very very easy to understand. After you do a few from the FC booklets the Clemens patterns and Billy's booklet and instructions will make more sence. I think Billy did a better job than Clemens did in the area of explanation and instructions but if your not familiar with the terminology it can seem like greek and hen scratches. Alan H, one of the many great features with visualwrap is being able to see a wrap grow thread by thread, gradually, or incredibly fast. Not alot of instruction is needed if you can watch a pattern grow one step at a time. When it finishes, hit "Clear', then hit "wrap", and you can watch it again and again till you get it. No language, all visual.
Or you can learn the crosswrap language introduced in CRTA. Like... 1st Step: Small grey diamond Layout : Middle Box-Grey Inner Adjacent Box-Light Outer box- Black Sequence: Middle box -out Inner Box - in Outer box - out, +1 Its a great language that book introduced and it took me awhile to learn it and understand it. Lots of trial and error for me. Seeing it happen in front of your face is a much more powerful tool, than the written word. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 06/02/2006 04:29PM by Michael Joyce. Alan H,
Michael J hit the nail on the head. The vizwrap scripts aren't designed to be "read" by people (although they can with practice". They tell the software where to place threads. the power of VisualWRAP is SEEING patterns develop, hence the name... regards Dave Boyle [www.threadcentral.net] Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

This is for Billy Vivona...this is the female friske...was wondering if you would mind sharing that pattern for the black widow spider w/me? I think it looks really awesome. And that is pretty much what made me decide to want to start learning this craft. I thought it was THE COOLEST spider I have seen yet.
Thanks Lori Friske :) wishn i was fishn...at the beach! <*)}}}>< Re: I need patterns Where can I get them

Just wanted to tell everyone thanks for all of the help on this thread. Mr. Barkley that was exactly what I was looking for, I had the first 30 or so pages of that but wanted the part with the more intricate designs and now I have them thanks to you. Thanks again.
