Burl Cork--How to Use

I haven't used burl cork in a handle before and I was wondering if it was suitable to use at the front or back end of a grip where it might chip, or whether it's best to use it in the in-between locations. Since it seems to be composed of chunks of regular cork somehow glued together, I might suspect it would be somewhat susceptible to those chunks chipping out.

Our Exotic Burl Cork is infinitely tougher than natural cork is...you have to really work to chip or crack it. The key is to find burl that is densley packed. The looser packed material will flake off easily. Our material is man.f in a 500kg density...the densent you can get.

Carrington Tate recently posted a photo in which he used Andy's exotic cork for a reel seat. Something to think about and try out. Makes sense to me.

I use Andy's exotic burl as caps on most of my rods and have not had any issues.

I often tip the ends of my grips with burl because it's a bit tougher than regular cork.

You can also coat the end with a nice coat of permagloss. hard as a rock and brings out the looks of that cork.
