Hi.. I have always purchased Gudebrod Thread for my wrapping, but what is the difference between my rod-building thread and my wife's 200 different colors of embroidery machine thread? Could I use her thread in a pinch or am I opening a can of worms...Thanks Tom Re: What is the Difference?

Do a search here on Madeira and Sulky and you will have all the info you could ask for. Re: What is the Difference?

If your wife's thread is treated with agents to enhance sliding thru the thread managers of a sewing machine, they may not absorb CP or epoxy as they should. Splotchy color and eventual water infiltration are two possible problems. Heed Upton - Search. -Cliff Hall+++ Re: What is the Difference?

Tom, what does your wife use? Madeira polyneon and Sulky metallics are widely used. I haven't noticed anything bad about Robison Anton or Coates and Clark poly. I've tried Gutterman thread with disastrous results, CP or not. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
