I have been meaing to ask this question and it seems appropriate now just after a post regarding the cutting of a blank and the possible voiding of the warranty.
Would you think the warranty would still apply if you added a butt extention to a Mgf's blank? ***Noting it does not extend more than 4 inches, it overlaps with the original blank 4 inches, The extending segment mates over the Mfg blank, or if the segemnt mates inside the Mfg blank reinforcing thread wraps are placed over the Mfg blank at the overlap. I do realize this may also be a Mfg case by case issue but leaning more towards retaining the Mfg warranty side of the equasion. Re: Warranties: Regarding Extending a blank

I feel sure that you would technically void the manufacturer's warranty by cutting or extending the blank. Most mention something about any alterations voiding the warranty.
You can always call and ask the manufacturer direct. Whether or not they make allowances for just how much you cut or extend is possible, but ask first if that sort of thing is important to you. .............. Re: Warranties: Regarding Extending a blank

I've only heard from Lamiglas on this with their surf blanks after adding a GRAPHX extension.
"The use of a GRAPHX extension limits warranty to blank defects only." I find that to be more than reasonable. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
