Thanks for asking. Mud Hole Custom Tackle maintains the largest inventory of rod building components in the world. We stock over 20,000 SKU's and currently have over 900,000 items in stock (and no they are not all hook keepers and tip tops) worth millions of dollars in inventory. All of this inventory in located in our own 14,000 square foot building with a 2,000 sq-ft show room and rod building workshop & demonstration area. This vast selection of rod building components - not lure building parts, fishing lines, hooks and lures, etc - make us the largest vendor of rod building components in the world.
Upon his return for a recent trip to the Gloomis factory our manager commented "We have more Gloomis blanks in stock then Gloomis has in their factory" and I would have to agree with him. Now does that mean we will have all the items in stock for your order ever time? No, but we strive to achieve that goal. Not to pass the buck, but most back orders are caused by the manufacturer no have in the item in stock when we order it from them. Dealing with over 100 vendors, our 14 person staff daily balances available inventory against committed stock, back orders and re-orders. We balance this with exceptional customer service and same day shipping. Currently call in customers can check inventory status when their order is placed. We are already working on web site based stock status and automatic notification of estimated back order fulfillment.
