Thinking about trying the Rubber Shrink Tube from MudHole over a Foam rear grip. Will primarily be used in rod holder.

Have not used the shrink tube yet, any thoughts?

Thanks
Jeff

Jeff,

I have been manufacturing tubing that works very well. It comes in 4 sizes to fit your specific application. I include an adhesive product in each kit to ensure the Armor does not move once applied. I have multiple Rod Manufacturers using my product on their production rods.

It takes a minute to install using a heat gun for the shrink process.

You can call me if you have any questions.

try using boiling water to shrink it it goes better than a heat gun

all my sea rods have shrink wrap grips because i personally think theres nothing worse than a fishey smelling grip
i sand the end the same as a guide then wrap onto it gives a nice neat finish

Thanks for the responses.

Question to Allen, not sure I understand sanding the ends. My concern on the rear grip was how to finish the end for the butt cap. I would like to use an EVA butt cap but was wondering how to have a nice line between the end of the grip and the cap. Will I need to cut the wrap even with the eva grip under the wrap or should I make the wrap a little longer than the grip and fold over the grip and glue the cap up tight holding the wrap. Somewhat concerned if I cut the wrap even with the grip the far ends of the wrap will work loose and look well like crap.

Thanks
Jeff

taper the ends down the same as you would a guide foot wrap it as normal extending the wrap about the same as thediameter of the blank (a coat of finish isnt really necesaryy here Then glue the butt cap on then finish as normal try a test piece first you will find no matter ho straight you cut the stuff it never shrinks straight (hence the taper and wrap method) its easier than it sounds

Hope it helps if not fire me an email and ill see if i can dig some pics out for you
