I went to take off a little bit of epoxy on a handle and some of the handle came with it. I got plenty of cork dust from drilling cork rings. I filled it with wood working glue....do you guys you epoxy. This is a reel small hole...Nevertheless I would like it purpose. I never have used any filler in the past.

Anyhow, if you guys would post up your methods for filling pits and holes in cork I would appreciate it.

You did fine, glue/cork dust or epoxy/cork dust either will work beautifully. I usually use glue as it's faster and dries quickly.

Make a cork dust paste with Rod Bond, add as much cord dust as you think you can then add some more. Then add a tiny bit of Titanium dioxoide dust to lighten the paste to the cork color. Fill the hole with the paste. Cover with plastic wrap tightly, spiral tape over plastic wrap. Let set for 6 to 8 hours then remove tape and plastic wrap. Lightly sand using 600 grit paper.

i just use cork dust and PVA glue (kiddies white craft glue mix up the paste until it resembles meat paste then force as much as i can get in the hole leave it to dry then sand off ( lol i also use this method to fill in the holes in doorframes baseboards and any other type of wood) epoxy IMO drys too hard for a soft(ish) substance like cork and wont wear the same
A longer winded method that i was tempted to try by an old cabinait maker was to gently sqare the area round the hole up then veneer a piece in I`ve yet to try it but i can see the benifits billy v would be the one to ask about inlays and veneers though as to the full process

I use Ambroid glue(used for model balsawood planes..available anywhere you get the models)glue and cork dust....mix in into a thick paste then fill....let it harden and lightly sand.

I picked this up from someone on this site..can't remember who...works great.
