Mulitple thread tool

I just finished re-reading my Clemens books. I recommend reading them agian. It is interesting how I got more tips and information from the books when I read them again.
Anyway, I am trying to turn my butt wraps out a bit faster. The difficulty is when dealing with thread bands. Multiple threads in the butt wrap. Does anyone have any tools that keeps the threads from twisting? Clemens talks about a multiple spool device. What does everyone do? Do you have any pictures of you tool? Is there a place to purchase one?

Rob,
Somewhere in my pile of rod building stuff I have one of those tools that I bought from Clemens. It is nothing more than a metal tube with an end cap made of plastic. The cap has several holes in it where you put the threads through. I used it a couple of times and gave up on it. The holes were small and it took a lot of time to put each thread through. And the thread still got twisted in the process. I gave up on it and started taping my thread bands on a piece of tape, taping the band to the blank, and doing the wrap. If I find the gadget, I will post a picture of it. There were other gadgets awailable when I bought mine. You can make one like I have. Go to your local hardware store and buy a piece of metal tubing, get a plastic cap of some type and drill several holes in it. Don't glue the cap to the tube. Slip the threads through the tube and through the cap, tape the cap to the tube and pull out the threads and start wrapping. The threads get tangled though in the tube.

Rob,several ways to do here is the way I do it.I took a bobbin box from Wal-Mart(sewing section) and filled it with bobbins(little spools). They can be stuck onto a peice of rod blank and spun on a rod lathe or a drill.Drill a 1/4 hole above each comparment to run the thread through.I also put a short length of latex tubing in the hole to prevent fuzzies although without it I didnt see a problem.Feed the thread up through the hole and pull from as many spools as you need.[www.rodbuilding.org]

Rob, also see photos that Billy v & Mike Joyce have posted about using multi-spool boxs. Between Fred, Billy & Mike , you will get a good idea of an easy way to do it.

Billy, I saw that and was impressed. Came home and made a box ,but I've only tried 6 threads at a time.
