I'm rebuilding my Dads old rod its a 6 ft bamboo rod. Its going to be used as a ultrlight spinning and 3/4 wt flyrod. What guides would be best for both types of fishing on this set up. 11 " Long Cork handle with sliding rings.

I would recommend the REC recoil RSPG guides. A bit pricy
but very light!

what kind of rod is it? who is the maker? is it originally a combo spin/fly rod? it might be something of monetary or collectible value which you might find valuable enough not to tinker with its design. i say this mainly because it's a 6 foot rod. most bamboo "cheapies" of little value overall have been much longer than that. on the otherhand, an 11 inch cork handle might mean it's originally a spin/fly combo and so then, nevermind my suggestion ;-). even if it's not of any collectible value, it's "dad's rod" and you might regret changing it years later. just something to think about if you haven't considered it yet.

have you looked into the various styles of guides available out there? do some reading up on recoil guides. they are quite different than other more conventional guides from what i read. they may not be what you're looking for. yes, they are lightweight but at 6 feet long, even conventional snakes, maybe in the lightwire version (pacbay) would work fine for you. also look into ceramic insert guides.

Eric

It has no name or markings on it. Its a 2 piece. He got it from a friend that was in the military I think it might be one of those made in Japan. with a new handle section.
has nice action though. His outher one is a Montague but only the Mid and tip are good the botoom has been wet and is coming apart at the seams.
