Hex metal Rod

Hi all. I found a 9 ft. metal,hex,telescopic,olive green with aluminum and cork handle with the name "Bristol" on the reel seat.Anyone know anything about thyis contraption....Thanx Re: Hex metal Rod

They use to make them all like that for a period of a few years. I have one but I think it's a Bronson and it's grey and also hexagonal. I asked at a regional antique tackle club meeting once and they told me it was worth from $5 to $10. I hung onto it for a keepsake more than anything else. Re: Hex metal Rod

I have one like you describe, with Bristol on the reel seat.
It's worth about $15.00 if in good condition. Not really valuable but an example of earlier rod production. John Re: Hex metal Rod

Ditto to the above, not a priceless antique, but a neat collectable from an era of rod making.
I get them in once in a while for repair, usually the guide that stops the inner section from going too far when telescoping out will let loose and the rod comes apart. If you run into that problem, J B WELD will do the truck... just be sure to line up the guides with the reel seat ~~ Tight lines to all ~ ~ Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
