Guide lock

At the Rod Show I was told about locking single foot guides to the rod blank with a figure 8 wrap. Tom mentioned to me that the instructions are in one of the issues of Rod Builder Mag. Can any one tell me what issue that is or were I can find instructions on this wrapping technique?

You can also just add 3-4 winds in front of the guide, then tie off and trim. The epoxy finish covers it up.
