What's the best way to get it off...heat with a hair dryer? Other?

Thanks...

What exactly are you looking do you, or what do you hope the expected result will be? What's wrong?

If you're looking to remove the butt wrap and finish - warm the wrap/finish then shave the wrap/finish down to the blank in one long "furrow" the length of the wra[ about 1/4" wide using a fresh single edge razor. Warm the edges of this furrow and pick at edges until you began to pull the entire off wrap in one big piece. You'll wind up with almost a complete cylinder of thread/finish when you're done.

Be careful and do not nick the black.

Lou

I use a Berz-o-matic propane torch to warm an area the length of the wrap, being careful to keep the flame moving, then do what Lou suggested above. If you're lucky it will all peel off.
