I had a friend who makes whips wrap a handle with kangaroo leather terminated in a turk's head. The leather was woven over the top of balsa. Haven't ever fished with the rod yet but it sure draws folks attention when looking at my assortment. In the Photo section there are some really nice leather grips. Re: Leather wrap handles...

If so, that's not what I'm thinking of- I'm thinking more like leather lacing wrapped around the butt section more like rattan handles I've seen. Re: Leather wrap handles...
