Can you use the RSPG recoil guides as single foot guides on a casting rod for the top section. Or will they flex under the stress of fighting a fish. Just wondering.

The RSPG will flex under presure so would not be suitable for a guides
on top casting set-up. They are high framed adding to the problem with
torque also. I suggest the RSFX or RSF model if you don't want to use
the RSGC double foot.

How about in the smaller sizes of the RSPG like the 8, 7, and 6's They are not to high of frame. Just wondering

Many of our customers that build casting rods use our RSG guides and RSPG guides on the same rod.
The single foot RSPG works nicely in sizes 6 & 7 towards the tip. Some of the heavier rods for use in Musky fishing or Flippin' Sticks and Inshore Casting Rods use the RSG #7's at the tip.
I have a few casting rods with RECOIL and use them in both fresh and saltwater. (NO CORROSION).
and use #6 RSPG's towards the tip and have had no noise and no issues in the 4 years I have had them on my casting rods. I feel that the rods are more responsive, lighter, and more sensitive. THis is my opinion. I would personally suggest that you use the RSPG over the RSF or RSFX for casting due to the fact that the smallest size we make in our single foot fly guides is a size #1 and the I.D. of the loop is 0.187" where as the RSPG #6 is 0.158''. I prefer these smaller guides at the tip section of my casting rods. Rod building is what you make it and isn't wonderful that we have so many choices.

When you get a chance can you tell me where I can get the loop dia. (decimal) and foot to loop center distance or foot to top of guide distance for the Rec single foot guides? I am finishing a spinning rod at this moment and it sure would been a big help to have had that data when i made my initial order. I have reordered a couple of times. I will begin a second rod in a week or so and sure could use the specs. I think these guides are great and appreciate the way you have finished the foot. It takes if at all only a moment with a fine jewelers file and they are ready. If you have a sheet with the height and i.d. I sure could use it. Tomd@dtccom.net
