I just got back from cape cod deep sea fishing for cod. I loved it so much that I want to go back again. I was thinking that I would like to build my own rod for this I like it so much anybody got any ideas what would be a good set up for cod fishing. I think I would like something on the heavy side I also might use it for small schooled tuna and strippers im not an off shore man so I not even sure if it would be possable any help from you offshore junkys would be very helpful

the Lami CGBT 961MH would be nice but a little light..the seeker CSB 909 cut to about a 14 tip or a calstar 900M cut down .. are popular blanks right now..they are a few to look at Re: rod blank for cod and strippers offshore tackle

With a one-piece 8' foot LamiGlas Mooch Bait (MB) or Batson Salt-Water (SWS / SW) rod blank, and some judicious trimming, you could make almost anything you want in a rod like this for cod or stripers, as for action, power and versatility.
Other Series and brands can work also, but these two Series have had lots of transforming surgeries performed on them, and they have their share of fanatics. As far as the strippers go, ...
