Using a running guide for a tip top.

If one were going to use a running guide as a tip top, I assume you would place the rod tip even with the end of the guide foot. Once the wraps get to the end of the rod tip, do you add a few more turns up the guide frame past the tip? Do you fill in this void with epoxy to make a neat transition look? Thanks. I do this a lot. It cuts down on the weight at the tip, especially on light spinning rods. I leave enought tip so that I can do a Forhan locking wrap. If too much tip remains exposed you can sand it off. I usually use persall's gossamer silk and it looks like the tip is painted on. Re: Using a running guide for a tip top.
