In the Batson Guide catalog' guide tables, height is specified.

Is that 'ring centerline-to-foot' distance or 'top-to-foot' or what?

Anyone, here, want to put a caliper on a few and then post,. kindly.

It's the total height of the ring, i.e. foot to frame edge.. There should be a little diagram at the top of the page next to the tables showing how the height is measured. It also provides the length of the foot.

Yes, it as Ted Morgan said. Every few pages in the Catalog there is a small schematic outline diagram of the Guide style, and where the H (height) and the L (base length) are measured.

If you do not have a hard-copy, print-copy of the Batson ForeCast Component Catalog: Imagine the Line Guide as it is mounted on the fishing rod, with the ROD on the BOTTOM and the LINE GUIDE sitting ABOVE the rod. Just as the sight on a rifle sits above the gun barrel.

The LENGTH (L) of the Guide, for a SINGLE-FOOTED Guide, is the distance between the TOE and the HEEL on the flat part of the Guide Foot. For a DOUBLE-FOOTED Guide, the LENGTH (L) is the TOE-to-TOE distance. It INCLUDES the open span between the heels, and therefore represents the minimum segment length of the rod covered by the Guide.

The HEIGHT (H) of the Guide Ring is measured to the OUTER EDGE of the GUIDE FRAME. This is the point that is the FARTHEST AWAY FROM the Rod Blank.

The fishing line itself is, of course, INSIDE the Guide Ring. Therefore the reported Height of the Line Guide is greater than the Farthest Distance of the Fishing Line Away From the Rod Blank . That difference is somewhere between ~ 1 millimeter for small ring sizes (6mm) and ~ 4 millimeters for the largest ring sizes (40 mm).

If you use a plotted semi-scalar method for planning any of your preliminary Guide Layout, this discrepancy is small enough that it does not introduce that much error. And it is easily, if not immediately, corrected by using the actual line guide in your hand, and sliding it up & down the graph with the scaled rod (X-axis) underfoot, to see if it fits within your Choking Funnel (Butt Guide to Intersect Point Triangle). The Reel Spool at the Origin of the X-axis defines the Upper & Lower edges of the Initial Cone, which immediately gets "choked" as it hits the Butt Gude. This Cone gets succesively "choked" as it funnels its way thru the next several guides until it hits your rod's "Intersect Point". Then the Running Guides just let the tamed fishing line flow forward towards the tip-top without much of a helix or tornado funnel effect remaining. ... At least, that's the Tri-Fecta Model's Theory, my embellishment of the other embellishments that have come before me (CMH+++) for Spinning Rod Guide Layout. .

Since the other brands report this Height in the same fashion, this discrepancy between the outer frame height and the line height away from the rod blank is even less of a consideration between brands of line guides.

Well, if there was any ambiguity after Ted's description of H or L, then hopefully this will have disspelled it. ...
