Okay, here's my question. Does anyone know if Rainshadow or any other blank company makes a blank simaler to the Allstar 1505. It is an awesome blank and I can't get it any more. It's become a customer favorite. Thanks for the info. Tight lines

FishSticks4U carries All Star, Rainshadow and some other brands, they may have a similar blank from another manufacturer just waiting for your next build. Re: Blank Question for the Board

Andy Dea also has some of the older AllStar balnks. He might by chance have one Or be able to suggest a good substatute. Re: Blank Question for the Board

Might want to post this on a surf fishing forum, SOL, Florida Sportsman, or give HAtteras Outfitters a call. Re: Blank Question for the Board

Probaby more surf rod builders right here than anywhere else. If you have the overall specs it wouldn't be hard to match up to something else. I've had great luck matching up old Allstar blanks to models produced by Batson under the RainShadow label. FishSticks4U can probably help as they carried the Allstar models and now stock heavy in the Batson stuff. They should be able to get you really close. Re: Blank Question for the Board

The blank is 12'6" and rated at 2-5oz. It is an awesome blank. It's really light so it's a nice option for my female customers. Plus a great rod to throw a 3oz metal when you need that extra distance. It truly fishes 2oz. through 5oz. very nicely. Thanks for the info. Re: Blank Question for the Board

A Rainforest 1418 -2 is pretty much the same rod but in an a 11'9" version. Re: Blank Question for the Board

This blank is a whole differrent animal than the 1418. I think you would be hard pressed to throw 2oz. any distance with a 1418. The 1505 will through the @#$%& out of 2,3,4 or 5 oz. Like I said, it's an amazing blank. Re: Blank Question for the Board

Yes Rainshadow, my bad.
I have 3 versions of the 1418/2 blank and the Rainshadow is defiantly the softest tipped of them all. I've not put the RS through its paces yet but what little work I've done with it I'd say the sweet spot is 3-5oz. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
