I have been offered an ALPS MD-4000 printer. Is this suitable for making waterslide transfers and does anyone know an internet or UK source for a manual for this printer?
Thanks

John from what I recall the 4000 was a printer scanner most of which were for Macs, some were made for windows the very best thing you can do is go to yahoo and join the Alps decal user group browse their archives or ask your question there, they have a tremendous load of information on all the Alps printers

John,

I just bought an MD1000 for waterslides with a little guidence from Mr. Putter. The printer you are looking at is not only compatible for waterslide sheets, but does a whole lot more, including eye-popping photos. I almost paid over $500 for a used MD5000, but it had features that I'd never use in this application, so I opted for the "Junior model" at $300.

There's a chart at timelink systems that shows cartridge compatibility among the ALPS printers that may shed a little more light on the features of each --> [www.prices411.com]

Also, there's the ALPS USA website which is shall we say, a little less than user friendly? You can probably get what you need there (drivers included) but it's not the easiest site you'll ever navigate! ---> [www.alpsusa.com]

Good Luck!
