When when he's not sawing cork, he can cut down a few trees with that saw. Re: Home made Cork slicing Jig

Man, that looks good. I think I will try to make one of those. I finally found a saw, now just need to get a jig. Re: Home made Cork slicing Jig

Thanks guys. Simple tools shouldn't have to cost a lot of cash. I have another one that I made out of precut wood strips that I picked up at Michaels for about half the cost of the aluminum one, that works just as well and actually looks much better. I made the aluminum one though for durability after I knocked the wood one onto the floor a few times because I'm an idiot. A lot of options out there for something like this. I tried the vacuum cleaner method but the noise drives me nuts, so I'll stick to manual hold down. Re: Home made Cork slicing Jig

Mick,
Great idea. I assume those are aluminum bars that you're using for shims - where did you track those down? Wayne Chubb Re: Home made Cork slicing Jig

Wayne,
I picked up the aluminum at Lowe's. Home Depot has them too. They are available in various sizes and lengths. I used very thin brass washers to shim the top plate for the saw gap. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
