Can someone recommend a good, but not overly expensive, fast action 5 weight, 8 1/2 foot flyrod blank? I'm interested in something that is fairly fast action.
Thanks Dave Re: Fast action 5 wt. blank

Check the CCS site and look at what is available. It will give you a good indication of the action available and the blanks that provide it. I think most folks will be hard pressed to know from your post what values to choose for "not overly expensive" and "fairly fast action". I prefer a Fast action. I have one St Croix SC IV and feel it is medium Fast.
I have found nothing I like better Than Gatti FRTA (Tip Action) Casts like a rocket!! I tried Sage, Fly Logic, and St Croix Some say it is just a tad slower than the Sage TCR. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
