Hello guys,
I have juts finished to shape my handle with four wood inserts (2 different colours) and I have also turned the matching reel seat … but now I am facing a big problem, my blank is mat charcoal and I really don’t know which thread colours I should use so as to cope with the reel seat and the handle. I was thinking about using orange with no CP with a HT Metallic but I have no idea about the colour I should use. I have also though about garnet and silver metallic, it goes well with the blank but not with the reel seat and the handle. What would you recommend to use, taking into consideration that I would like to avoid using CP. I have posted a picture of this handle if anybody could help I would appreciate. Personally I like the garnet and "J" thread Government Gold. I think any combo of gold with the cork handle would look good. I've stained some wood handles and gold just seems to look good with natural colors to me. I like silver too, but don't like the way it looks with anything woodtone. Can't see the color of your wood trim pieces, but a safe bet would be to try to match that color as close as you can. Dabbing some water on the thread will give you an idea of it's color with no CP. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
