good thread for green RX7?

Anyone have any suggestions? In the past I've used just a basic green thread for these green blanks, but I'm looking to mix it up a bit this time. I'm looking for something understated but slightly distinguished from the blank.

Browns or Reds look good on a green blank.

Garnet always looks good with green. Also take a look at blue dun. No cp with these is best. Tom

Here's a pic of a recent green RX7 on which I use a brown Mettler polyester: [www.rodbuilding.org] I don't remember the thread number and because it is sewing polyester I used CP, in this case a Minwax water borne polyurethane with Thread Master as the finish. I've also used Gudebrod Black/Orange Classic Twist on the Rainshadow green and like it. With CP it takes on an almost wood grain look. And, I've used Garnet and liked it. As someone here recently posted, Garnet looks good on just about every blank color.

Black w gold or silver trim...classic look....match the trim to the components. Makes for a tight looking stick!!

Well for something a little brighter without being too loud, try Gudebrod Classic Twist - Red & Black. You can trim it to match your guides or your reel. I use CP on mine. I've also heard that Classic Twist Orange & Black looks great on these blanks, but I haven't tried that one yet.

The main thing is - Have Fun!

Madeira polyneon no. 1690 (midnight teal) with either metallic silver or copper trim looks good and is a little different. Barry

This might be a bit 'out there', but I might suggest...............black. LOL

As Joe said, black nylon with silver or gold accents to match your reel seat and/or guides look very nice. It's what I generally do with Matrix blanks.

Black/orange Classic Twist without CP becomes a dark and medium brown combination(like wood grain) that looks great on the green RX7 blank.Any of the other browns look really classy as well,as does garnet(garnet looks great on everything, with or without CP) and rust without CP(this is a really nice orangy brown color).A lighter color like sunburst, gold,or goldenrod without CP would look nice too.

LOTS of colors look good on these blanks, but I especially like the earthy tones.
