Hi All,

Can Maranda Super Twist thread be use in rod building like their Polyneon 40?
I have done a search here and found no info on their Super Twist thread.

Thanks in advanced

You mean Madeira? He He. That might help with the search. I've only used nylon, Gudebrod or Angler's.

HAnk - I tried that Super Twist stuff and hated it. Putter said he has used it for guide wraps and loves it. To each his own - only way you'll know if you like it is if you buy it and try it.

I didn't like the fact that it fisheyes, but love the fact that the buried tie-off thread is totally invisible because of the 'twisted' nature of the thread.

I have to sit with the finish until it's nearly set up and drag finish back into the fisheyed areas and then give it a bit of heat to get a a smooth coverage without using CP, and that I don't like, but I've done it many times and have gotten a good finish job by doing this each time.

Randy give this a shot - one coat of Permaglos. I put a coat on one of my wraps, no fisheyes. The other half of the wrap I put regular epoxy on fisheyed like normal. I have NOT tried subsequent coats of PG, nor epoxy over teh Pg, so I do not know if it will fisheye after that initial coat.
