MIKE - I'm sure several people would like to help you if they could, but ... READ what you wrote, man. ... You have not given anyone a clue as to what the real problem is. Or what kind of operation you have or rods you are building. GIGO, ...
Speed usually comes with practice and repetition in any routine task. Other than using a power wrapper for large diameter saltwater rod blanks, there are no dramatic ways to increase speed that deal with tools alone. It's all an acquired and honed skill and technique, IMO. And using a power wrapper is not an immediate fix to faster rod-building. There is a learning curve there as well. And if the design aspect is the rate-limiting step for your productivity, then that may not be a bad thing. One rod per week for a new rod-builder is not only okay, it's pretty good. Ten - twenty hours per new rod project on a virgin rod blank is pretty typical. So one rod per week is pretty good for starters. Maybe you should give yourself a pat on the back, ... IMO. Proper Prior Planning Prevents Piiss Poor Performance. "MEASURE TWICE, CUT ONCE" and all that, you know. IMO, Good Luck, Mike. ... -Cliff Hall+++, Gainesville, FL-USA***** Re: rod wrapping help
