Perma-Gloss question

I'm getting ready to apply Perma-Gloss to a Matte blank to give it a gloss finish. I was wondering if you guys followed the mfg. directions or if you had a different technique that seems to work better for you. This will be a 2 piece blank. Should I avoid the ferrule area to avoid any fitting problems that could arise? Thanks. Re: Perma-Gloss question

PermaGloss is very thin. I normally coat the ferrule area along with the rest of the rod surface. 2 thin coats shouldn't throw off the fit there, provided your application results in a smooth coating with no runs or sags.
