John,
I talked with you today, Class of '82. Anyway, all the way back to Atlanta, I continued to be intrigued with your cooperhead seat insert. Man that thing is a beautiful. What I could not remember is if you said that you did or did not remove that brass tubing. If you ever have one you would be willing to let go let me know. That would be the center piece for a new fly rod. Doug Re: charlotte

I came by and talked with you a couple of times. Your work is fantastic! Seeing rods like that inspires me to get better. Steve Broadwell Re: charlotte

doug i appreciate the compliment. i only have a very small amount of that skin left. that skin was from a snake a coworker killed after it bit his dog(the dog is ok). i dont know if i can get any more. once it warms up maybe some will come available. i am going to save the little bit i have for personal projects. i hope you will understand. if i am able to obtain some more i will let you know Re: charlotte

Anyone who missed John's work with reel seats and handles (as well as rod design) really missed an opportunity to see one very positive step forward in the craft. Thank you John for participating & hope to see you next year! Re: charlotte

John,
Great display and many thanks for answering all my questions and share so much information on your techniques and material. Great rods and exceptional work Mike (Southgate, MI) If I don't want to, I don't have to and nobody can make me (except my wife) cuz I'm RETIRED!! Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
