From one color to the next?

When I do a guide wrap, how do I go from one color to the next without finishing one color out and going over the top with another. I see how you guys are getting the single bands of color in the middle of another, but how are you tying off one color with just a few wraps and then starting another?
Thanks for your help!! Re: From one color to the next?

If you are simply doing a trim band, before you finish the guide....place the thread or threads under your last thread wrapped on the main color and finish off the guide with at least 5-10 passes left leaving the tags (bands) loose. now you should have a finished guide with loose thread that is held under the original wrap. finish off you trim band(s) and tie off. If you are wanting a band to break up a wrap do the same as above and I generally will start the origianl color over again from scratch next to the band.
Hope this is not too confusing Kevin Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 02/20/2006 01:05PM by Kevin Pittman. Re: From one color to the next?

Michael
If you will be in Charlotte stop by and I'll show you how I "pick up and drop" threads in wraps. Of course anyone else is also most welcome to show me how they do theirs. All about learning Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
