REC insert swelling?

Hi all, I recently built a Sig V 905-3 with a REC NBGB seat with a Black ash dyed green insert, after completing the build I noticed that the sliding hood will not travel all the way up the insert to the recessed hood (bottom of grip). The insert seems to have swollen ( I think at some stage during the build). I realise that it actually doesn't need to slide all the way up, and mine does travel far enought to hold my choice of reel.
Just wondering though has anyone else experienced this and is there anything I could do without damaging the finish on the insert? Any suggestions appreciated, Thank You Re: REC insert swelling?

Not unless you sand the top part of the grip down a little. Should be easy enough to tell if it's enlarged just by measuring it with calipers. It might also be that they are all sized like that. I'll check one for you in Charlotte at the Big Show next weekend. REC will have a booth there. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
