South Bend pack rod missing tip piece

a friend of mine brought me an old South Bend Outdoorsman 40 Pack Rod.
model appears to be 7-632-256
it's a 5'6" rod in 5 pieces, counting the handle. or at least it used to be 5 pieces.
each piece is about 14" inches long. metal ferules. and it's an odd shade of brown, kinda like spicey mustard. or the deck of the older mako boats.
he managed to drop the tip piece overboard in deep water.
From the looks of the rod, I'd say it isn't worth fixing but he says it has a lot of sentimental value to him (old fiance gave it to him right before she was killed in a car wreck).
He'd like the end piece replaced.

any suggestions on where one would come up with a tip for such a beast?

Contact South Bend. Explain the situation. I believ they can help you or your friend for a replacement section. Down side they may need thr whole rod to match the missing section
