You should spend a day fishing and talking shop with Andy. When you walk away you will be all fired-up about our sport and craft. I always look forward to meeting with him. He reminds me of Gary Loomis and Roger Seiders. I had the pleasure of meeting Gary many years ago. It was like listening to a fisherman on a double dose of steroids. Gary would treat you like you were someone that just set a world record in bass fishing. It did not matter to him about your background, only that you liked fishing and rodbuilding. Re: lamar

I whole hearly agree with all the above. Our prayers need to be with him and his family at this time. On the same note most of the vendors on this site fall into the same mold. Big John Rio Hondo, Texas Blessed are those who can give without remembering and take without forgetting Re: lamar

There is only one problem in dealing with Andy. When you call in an order and start talking building, wood, turning, fishing techniques, blank design that get the most potential out of each techniques, manufacturers that pull off the design, fishing destinations to use the techniques, family, friends .... a whole lot of work time can disappear. Wait, I take it back. That's not a problem at all :). It's what this hobby/business/addiction is all about. And as John points out, the neat thing is it's the same experience with the Bobs, Dan, Neal, Richard, Karen ...... Rod builders are blessed to be able to do business with people who care about the sport and the sports. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
