I was wondering if someone might have some options on 13ft float rod blanks.
Im looking for 13ft 2 or 3 piece rods some where around 4-10lb test. I am aware of the common blanks, like sage, loomis, rainshadow, raven, st croix and diamondback. I was hoping to find some new blanks (to me) to try out. Thanks Re: 13 ft float rod blank options

Personally, I use a 10'6" rod for float fishing, but Cabela's has a Fish Eagle II blank in 11'6", rated 1-4# test. If that's not long enough you could extend it a bit. And for $29.99, it's going to beat a lot of the other float rods out there. Nice blanks, too!

Nick,
I went to Cabela's website for Fish Eagle Blanks and they don't even show a 10' blank....let alone an 11'-6"? Where did I go wrong? Gem In fact....where do you get a 10'-6" blank? Is it a 3wt-4wt-....mid flex...full flex? Modulus? I wanna build one. Re: 13 ft float rod blank options

Talon makes a VI Plus 4 to 8 lb blank in 13 ft 6 in and 15 ft, moderate action, very smooth presentations. They also make the 13 ft BMISC, faster action blank, same line weight, that I personally think makes one of the finest float rods there is. Re: 13 ft float rod blank options

I think they call the BMISC blanks ITM series now, but I'm not sure. Haven't built or fished one in a few years. Re: 13 ft float rod blank options

I have built 3 13' Rainshadow for float fishing and they are working great. I run Fireline for main line with many steelhead
to 18 lbs. Steve Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
