Hi, I'm new to the site. Thanks for the opportunity to post my rod building questions.
I'm getting ready to build a conventional surf heaver on a Batson RS-1509. I'll be using Fuji SIC. What is the difference between the old standard NSG casting guide and the Concept MNSG. They look similar in the catalogs. Different grade of stainless on the frame? I noticed on the fuji site they describe the mnsg concept as having a "deep-pressed frame. No such claim for the nsg. Is that different. If so how? Does the concept mnsg have a different frame height than a standard nsg ? If so how much in a 30, 25, 20 and 16 ring size? It's a $200 blank and I'd like to get it as close to right as possible. Thanks Re: nsg compared to mnsg

The Concept frames are lighter, thinner, a little different ring attachment, etc. I would say the NSG are heavier and sturdier, the Concept are lighter, more flexible, etc. I think they'd fine for most purposes, but for a really heavy duty heaver I'd stick with the NSG frame.
