When you are glueing up your gimbal, real seat and tip what method have you found to work best. Do you just eyeball it or do you have some sort of jig that you use? I have been pulling a string down the center but fill there is a better way.
Thanks for your help!! Re: Lining everything up?

Michael, I use a nail inserted in one of the grooves as a reference point to line everything up by sighting down it from the butt end of the rod. Regards......Doug@ TCRds Re: Lining everything up?

Michael,
Good ol' mark one eyeball. It just has to be close. After all it IS only a fishing rod. Good Luck! Buddy Sanders Re: Lining everything up?

String or fly line or contrastingly colored fishing line is good. A piece of 1/2" - 3/4"tape with a drawn centerline. Narrow trim tape (1/8th" - 1/16th").
Overhead View + Underside View + Gunsight view for Line Guide "List". Gunsight view for Reel Seat to Tip-Top Ring. Some use a cut-off foot & leg from an old spinning reel as the rear-sight to align the reel seat from the gunsight view. Re: Lining everything up?

Like Doug I typically tape a nail in the vertical gimble slot and sight down the blank to be sure it's lined up with whatever I already have installed.
