Titan guide finish

Quick question...what is the appearance of the frame finish on American Tackle's Titan guides...is this a polished/shiny look, or is it more of a flat finish? Chrome or gray?

Patrick
I have used the Titans and they seem to me to be polished, some brighter than others.
They are very good guides with style. What is you concern?

Jeff, I am looking for a high quality single foot guide to put on some fly rods I will be building, and I prefer the look of polished chrome with the performance of a guide with an insert. (I put PacBay titanium-coated single foots on a rod I built years ago, and I just don't like the darker gray, "gunsmoke" finishes or a matte/flat finish like on chrome AmTak blue zirconia guides). I was all set to order Fuji Alconites, but spotted the Titan guides...thought they might be exactly what I am looking for in terms of looks, high performance (the feeling of satisfaction that comes with knowing you have the lightest frame material possible, whether or not that translates into a better experience on the water), and cost.

In short, I want the best possible guide that has a shiny chrome frame and has a respectable insert.

Patrick
I used Titan guides on a spinning rig for a friend, not a fly rig, but was very pleased with the looks and performance of them. The best of all was price when compared to other titanium guides. I don't think you would be disappointed with them either. I personally feel that just a Fuji Hardloy guide or Concept Alconite would be fine for me, but a friend wanted titanium on his rod.
Here is a link to the Titan Guides to give you the details.....good luck and enjoy!

Titan guides are my favorites. The finish is shiny but not metallic (like chrome). In other words, they actually look like metal! They're great guides for whatever use you want to put 'em.

They are a solid titanium alloy, so the finish is natural titanium, a metallic grey. They are a semi-gloss compared to a hard chrome guide, but they look fine. I use them saltwater fly rods, including the glossy Sage RPLXi blanks.

#6 Alconite fly guides are slightly lighter than #6 Titan fly guides.
