haven't check the board in awhile and read a thread about counterboring grips for reelseats-my method is a little different but works for me-i have a pretty well-stocked woodshop-one of the advantages of being the only son of an only child of a woodworking family-from the why spend $250 for a table when the tools and materials only cost $249.99 school of thought-and have a slow rpm drill press with a vise.Once I mark the center of the grip, i use a Forster bit of the same size as the outside of the part of the reelseat that fits in the cork, and CAREFULLY drill to the correct depth.Most reelseats seem to fit almost perfectly and the cut is extremely smooth and flat-bottomed.Works for me anyway.
