A fishing friend brought along his spey rod built on a Rodon 13' 10 wt (3 pc) blank the other day, with internal ferrules and unsanded gray graphite. Can anyone share some history of blanks produced by this company? The archives here only list information on components, and the Cortland connection. Re: Rodon

I'm somewhat familiar with them, but maybe not up to speed on all of it. Rodon once made blanks and components in their own facility. I think they stopped producing blanks sometime in the late 80's or so. They continued to produce reel seats right up through the mid-90's when Cortland bought them.
The blanks were considered to be pretty good, although by today's standards they might seem a little antiquated. But at the time they were made they were certainly in line with most other top quality products. ............ Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
