I made a mistake with the tip # 8 and first guide # 7. The rod is for my personal use but will this make any difference? I have not put the finish on yet but would have to wait for a # 8, 1st guide. The rod is 7' spinning with 6 guides & tip. Re: Guide goof?

Will work fine may not be the perfect set up you want, but will work. One option is to glue the tip on with out wrapping it so you can use it while waiting for a #7 to come in. Then repalce it and wrap at that time. Maybe order #7 when you order parts for your next rod to save on shipping. Re: Guide goof?

Dave - Like Steve said, it will definitely work, as far as passing the fishing line thru the guides is concerned. It won't have any noticeable effect on line casting or load distribution. ... However, if you ever expect to need to pass leader KNOTS or SWIVELS thru those guides, for whatever reason, you may feel otherwise. BUT that can also be addressed later on, IF and when that day ever comes. -Cliff Hall+++ Re: Guide goof?

If you can see this minor goof easily and it bothers you, why not just order a 7 top to match the first guide? You 'should' be able to get the 8 tip off (hopefully without damaging the blank) and replacing it with the 7. I'd get the old one off first in case you mess up the blank you can get the proper tube size for your 7.

Think of it as an experiment - take it fishing while the other is on the way to you... I do have a 'follow-on' question about the numbering though....
What are you calling a #7 and a #8? Ring diameters? I was not aware that there was such a thing as a "#7" as in millimeters? The only guides I can remember seeing were all even numbers unless you are describing the tip tip tube size?? Re: Guide goof?

KEN Preston <[email protected]> - Why guides are made so small, I don't know, but the NOMINAL RING DIAMETERS for FUJI LINE GUIDES are: 2.5, 3.0, 3.5, 4.0, 4.5, 5.0, 5.5, 6, 7, 8, 10, 12, 16, 20, 25, 30, 40 & 50 MM. Obviously, not all styles of ceramic rings or guide frames are available in this entire range of sizes. But that's what the Fuji website *.PDF has - OD, ID, Width. This information comes from the following Link.
FUJI RING OD-ID-Width: from the drop-down menu link GENERAL INFORMATION “RING SIZE CHART†[www.anglersresource.net] Ken, I'm e-mailing you a copy for your convenience. -Cliff Hall+++ cmkmhall@ufl.edu FUJI RING HEIGHTS: [www.fujitackle.com] NOTICE that FUJI: Y-Frame RING-HT = ~ 2.0 x RING-OD V-Frame RING-HT = ~ 1.5 x RING-OD Edited 2 time(s).
