OK I know this is a little off but the board seems slow today. I was curious as to the most common geographical location of builders. It appears that the majority of the builders here are from the Coast be it West or East. California seems to pop up a lot. Myself , I am from Indiana just ten minutes south of Lake Michigan. Not totally landlocked!!! Mark Schulte Re: Geographical location o fbuilders

That is true. Canada is due south from Detroit. Anyways...At least we are known for many things in the Buffalo area...Snow by the yards, instead of feet, great salmon and trout fishing, one of the world's greatest smallmouth fisheries, ice fishing opportunities galore, etc, etc. Re: Geographical location o fbuilders

I can give you the states that have the greatest concentrations of rod builders, at least as far as the mailing list from RodMaker Magazine is concerned. 1. Florida 2. North Carolina 3. California 4. Texas From there it's a toss up with fairly good concentrations in the New England, Midwestern and NorthWest areas. ................... Re: Geographical location o fbuilders

I am from Fargo ND, a new builder, and needed something to do in the winter evenings. It has been the most addicting thing I have done in a long time. Very enjoyable. Re: Geographical location o fbuilders

Wilmington Illlinois, just 10 miles south or so from the famous Joliet prison, near the banks of the Kankakee River, known for smallmouth, the state record walleye, and full of catfish and rock bass. There are also three cooling lakes within an hours drive. Bob Vasko Re: Geographical location o fbuilders

I'm from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I'm surprised I haven't heard anyone else chime in from PA. I know Gudebrod and Clemens both (among others) are located in the state. Anyone out there near me here? Rick rkoontz@andrew.cmu.edu Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
