I've got everything else decided but I'm still wondering which tip top should I get for a 12'6" #9/10 double hander.
Fuji TFST (size 7 or 8) or Recoil RTTUL-XL Is there any reason to get the titanium framed Fuji SiC? There will be no hauling and most of the other guides are Recoils... and that Recoil top is a tad lighter than the Fuji. Cheers, Sakari Re: Spey / OH double hander tip top?

Hi,
I built a Thomas & Thomas 8wt double hander about 3yrs ago, I used all fuji guides.I am not familiar with the Recoil guides, but I don't think you should have a problem with either one. I don't know if you ever used a double hander, but it is an experience and requires some pratice getting used to, you cannot double or single haul with these rods and different lines or shooting heads are required as well as trial and error. A real good guy to communicate is R.B. Meister rods, he is like a specialist in spey and double handers, he is on the West Coast but and e-mail to him will get you answers. He is listed on the right hand column. Once you get into this type of rod, you will find one false cast and 100ft launch is no problem.....hope everything works out.....good luck Frank Voodoo custom rods Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
