Hey guys, just wondering if there has been any feedback on the fuji CNMAG guides. I am planning of building another surf rod and was looking at these guides, instead of the black BMNAG. My concern is the durability of the chrome finish. Any input???
Thanks Tony Re: Fuji CMNAG Guides

Hello Tony..I have no idea how they'll hold up. I have seen the older chrome hardloys have adverse effects to the salt , but the user wasn't one to take care of his tackle :)
If you save up a few bucks, consider the ICMNSG's. Its a step up dollar wise, but for a rod built for your own use...go the extra mile. (Great to see you made the LI NERBS gathering) Mike Re: Fuji CMNAG Guides

Hey Mike, what's happening? Thanks for the info. The LI NERB gathering was fantastic, lots of laughs. I hope to be able to make one of the other gathering, Maybe Mass again???? We'll see how the timing works out.

Tony, you should have asked me to bring a set for Saturday. I hae a rod which I use fairly often, and NEVER clean. I want to see how much it takes teh Chrome Alconites to rust. THEy are starting to look crappy, especially where the feet cracked - but the rest of teh guide looks really good. I woudl say tha tif you take care & rinse these guides, you will have no problem whatsoever using these.
They are NOT like the Chrome Hardaloys, which turn green and look crappy after missing a rinse cycle once or twice. Re: Fuji CMNAG Guides

Billy, i didn't think of it until afterwards. I was planning on using the BMNAG's, but I saw the CMNAG's and thought that they looked great. I normally rinse every outing, LOL

Tony, if you rinse every outing, the Alconite Chromes will last a long time before discoloring, at least in my opinion and baed on the one rod I've been "testing" them on. What sizes are you looking to use? Re: Fuji CMNAG Guides

Billy, not too sure yet. I have some BMNAG guides that I will tape on and test cast. Probably a 40 butt guide and work from there.
