Cloth Fly Rod Bags

Can anyone recommend some cloth fly rod bags to protect 3 and 4 pc. 6 and 7 weight rods, 9' long?

These bags will be used to hold rod sections inside REC's aluminum canisters. Cabela's appears to have almost 100% 2 pc bags, I have always thought St. Croix bags were a little short, and a lot of manufacturers scale things for tiny trout rods.

Thanks.

Hi Tony,

Just an idea for you - Have your wife/girlfriend make them for you or find a local seamstress. By doing them in house you can have them made to your specs and not have to depend on buying one that may not be what you really want. I'm a firm believer in doing everything I can in house. Sometimes it cost a little more but it's done the way I want and never any back orders. Hope this might help you.

I am lucky enough to have them made by someone in the family. For those of you that have them made, make sure you ask if the sewing machine used will do simple embroidery. All my rod socks are now embroidered with the person's name and rod specs. It never occured to me that a regular sewing machine could do this, but appearently, the higher end ones will. Talk about custom!

Have you tried the REC bags? You can get them in wider widths if you need

If you don't have someone who can do the job locally (always nice of only for the convenience) you might check with Angler's Workshop. I've had them make rod bags up to the size needed to fit multi-piece surf rods. Nice folks there and always great results. If you have special size requirements just let them know the size of guides that will have to fit in the various sleeves.
