Hey there,
I just like to build my own fly rod reel seat, for a small trout rod. So I have a few questions about. I’m looking for a mechanical drawing of the reel foot adapter (I hope you know what I mean). As well, what kind of thread do you normally use on a reel seat (3/8Inch or a metric like M17x1)? If someone could help me, would be nice. Sorry about my English  Best regards from Switzerland Pascal Ritzer Re: Building the own fly rod reel seat

They're all different. I don't think there are any mechanical drawings of them except at the companies that make the seats. Re: Building the own fly rod reel seat

Pascal,
where are you located in Switzerland ? I live 15 minutes far from Geneva, on the French side of the border, I though I was the only one on that site from our area. Tu parles français oder sprichst du Deutsch ? I have already tried several times to build some reel seats, maybe the problems that I have faced during these attempts could be useful for your , do not hesitate to send me an email.
