nylon mono for ferrule wrap

What do you think about using nylon mono as a ferrule wrap? The nylon mono
is sewing thread, .005 dia. grayish in color. Would make two wraps. It will
be vertually invisible on a black blank.

George,
I'm not sure why you would want to use that. Any nylon (especially size A) rod winding thread will go virtually invisible if you put epoxy or U40 Permagloss on it & leave the CP off.

I have some Persalls white silk that IS invisible when PG is applied , works great for repairs on blanks where you don't want the repair to be seen . Kinda' light for furrel re-enforcement on heavier rods though . Good luck , John

Actually, the mono will tend to take on a silvery look when you apply finish to it. White silk tends to become more invisible than anything else - if that's what you're after.
