Have started making rods again after many years. Most are fly rods. Have been using Flex Coat but ran across a site showing several different types. I think I used to use Gudebrod. Just looked at a rod I made about 30 years ago and still clear and no yellowing. Any advise? Have had problem with not drying totally(flex coat) but only mixing very small amounts. Most epoxies are pretty forgiving in regards to mixing ratios but the more you mix at one time the better.
Try and mix up at least 3cc of each component and you will have less trouble with it not setting completely Raymond Adams Eventually, all things merge, and a river runs through it.. Re: Different types of coating

All modern epoxies will set up and cure properly if you measure and them correctly. That's something you can count on.
Flex Coat is still an excellent finish, and there are many other good ones on the market these days as well. ................. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
